Lace Law’s Philip Armitage qualifies as a commercial mediator

clip_image002We’re very pleased to announce that Lace Law Non Executive Director and Consultant Solicitor Philip Armitage has recently qualified as an accredited Commercial Mediator.

Philip has long had a strong interest in commercial and civil mediation and workplace mediation, and so is delighted to have received this prestigious recognition. Congratulations Philip!

Like all of our people, Philip has the real world business experience needed to be able to provide advice to our clients and add value to their business.

It is this experience that allows our solicitors to act as “sounding boards” for businesses’ day to day issues, and allows our people to provide them with actual advice rather than just options. Philip prides himself on being able to provide his clients with flexible, accessible, cost effective support and advice.

As well as specialising in commercial and civil mediation and work place mediation, Philip also specialises in employment law, commercial disputes, commercial debt recovery and consumer and contract related cases, with a particular interest in the motor and leisure industries. He has extensive experience in these areas, and also has a developing interest in intellectual property.

Philip has more than 25 year’s experience of specialising in employment law and dispute resolution. Originally from Newark, Philip studied law in Newcastle upon Tyne, and then went on to study at the College of Law in Chester. Qualifying in 1991, he spent two years working at a large Nottingham firm, before returning to Newark to join a five partner firm as a partner, where he stayed for 14 years. He became a partner at a Lincoln based firm in 2008 and was given responsibility for heading up and successfully establishing a new office for the firm in Newark. He established his own business, Philip Armitage Ltd, providing legal consultancy services in April 2016, which has now expanded to include commercial mediation. He has been working with Lace Law since the company was founded a year ago in June 2016.

Philip is also a Deputy District Judge, and was appointed to this role in 2005. He sits in the Civil Courts of South Yorkshire and Humberside. Outside of work, Philip enjoys running. He also has a lifelong passion for cars, and is an avid follower of Formula 1 motor sport and a huge fan of track days. Philip can be contacted by email at or by phone on 01400 670982.
